2007 Inductees to the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame

Terry Ignatowski—A former member of the WPBA, in 1990 she was the first woman to bowl an 800 series, including a 300 game.  From 1989-1991, she held 9 of the top 10 women’s bowling records in Saginaw, and had the highest state average in the 1990-1991 season of 219, which was also the 7th highest average in the nation at the time.  She has many awards to her name, including Saginaw City Doubles and All Events Champ, and in 1993 placed 5th in the Michigan Queen tournament.  She has bowled in many Flint-Saginaw All Star matches and was part of the Fisher Flack team that first broke the 3,000 series barrier.  She still continues to score on the lanes, and was a Bowler of the Week in 2004 with an actual series of 762.  She always felt that her goals weren’t personal but always about the team.  Congratulations on her induction to the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame.

Don (Rocky) Leonard—Involved in bowling for more than 50 years, he is an excellent bowler who has held one of the men’s Top Ten averages in Saginaw several times, with a high of 215 in 1997.  With two 299 games, numerous 700 series to his credit, including a high of 772 with a  299 game, he is a fierce competitor who placed 4th in the 1974 Michigan State Tournament in Doubles with an actual series of 694, which was a tie for high series of the tournament.  In 1986, he won the 700 Club Tournament with a 4 game actual series of 884, and in 1999 had an actual series of 687 in the USBC Doubles National Tournament.  As of this year he has bowled in USBC Tournaments for 35 years.  Welcome Don to the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame.

Patrick Mahoney—Bowling for over 25 years, he has maintained an average well over 200 for several years in three leagues, and through his career has had eight 300 games, three 299 games, two 298 games and three 800 series.  He is a member of the 700 and 800 clubs, and has bowled in many tournaments over the years starting in 1978 as the Chesaning Singles Handicap Champion.  Involved off the alley as well, he is currently President and a Life Member of the Saginaw USBC, a member of the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame Board, as well as chair and co-chair of several tournaments.  He is a gentleman on and off the lanes and a welcome addition to the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame.

Robert Zill—Though an excellent bowler in his own right, Bob has shown his dedication over the years through his promotion of the sport.  He has served on the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame Board for over 20 years, with 6 of those as Secretary-Treasurer.  He became a director of the Saginaw USBC in 1995, serving as Vice President for 4 years, and President for one year.  He also helped establish and serve as chairman of the Youth Scholarship Program.  Because of his dedication to the sport of bowling, he received a Special Recognition award from the Hall of Fame Board in 2003.  He is a credit to the game on and off the lanes and we congratulate him on his induction to the Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame.
